Postal Rally in Bismarck, ND
The postal rally for retaining 6-day delivery was held at the William L. Guy Federal Building in Bismarck, ND today. While weather conditions prevented some distant edges of North Dakota from attending, we had 4 rural carriers representing among the city, clerk, mail handler, and retired others who also came to support 6 day delivery. Here are some photos from today:
Local media affiliates were out (KXNews, KFYR News, and the Bismarck Tribune) to cover the event in photo and video.

The NRLCA will be participating in a National Day of Action to rally against the elimination of Saturday mail delivery, partnering with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC). The rallies will take place on Sunday, March 24thacross the country. In this critical fight, thousands of rural and city letter carriers, postal workers, and supporters will be gathering at post offices in major cities.
Since the announcement that Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe intends to eliminate the U.S. Postal Service’s guarantee of six-day mail delivery, the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association has been working nonstop to fight this decision. Working with Congressional leaders from both parties, we have been pushing back against the Postmaster’s legally questionable decision which is sure to cost tens of thousands of jobs and lose the USPS untold millions of revenue if implemented.
We encourage rural letter carriers, along with their friends and families, to join in these events in their local communities. By standing together with our coworkers and fellow brothers and sisters, we can express with one voice our opposition to this short-sighted and ill-advised policy. Please check the website in the next couple of days for rally locations.
Please stay tuned to the NRLCA website for updates.

Once again the Post Office is trying to get rid of 6-day delivery.
And once again, we carriers must work to protect the Post Office and all are jobs and benefits.
Please contact your congress person to protest the PMG’s plan to 5 day delivery. The problems of the postal service are fixable without cutting service to the American public, especially rural and small town North Dakota. In addition it would cost the Post Office revenue, delay vital medical and parts shipments, delay rural papers, and cost rural jobs.
